Dress to the Nines: A Cocktail Party to Benefit Payomet ft. John Pizzarelli

Presented by Payomet Performing Arts Center at Payomet Performing Arts Center

For 25 years, Payomet Performing Arts Center has been dedicated to bringing people together to share a passion for music and an appreciation for extraordinary performances– and this special evening will be no exception.

You're invited to celebrate Payomet's 25th on Saturday, September 9 at our "Dress to the Nines" benefit party, which will be nothing short of spectacular. This event will feature locally sourced cocktails, mocktails and apps, and a one hour performance by jazz legend John Pizzarelli.

Come dressed to the nines, Cape Cod style. Looking good means feeling good, so please come as you are. Formal wear is not required, however, a signature boa will be provided to each guest, no matter their attire.

This party is also our chance to acknowledge and celebrate one particular member of our Cape Cod community, Sarah Swain. Inspired to make a difference in her community after losing her mother to ovarian cancer, local musician Sarah created the Cape Cod Women’s Music Festival in 2012. In 2014, Sarah founded the Cape Wellness Collaborative, which works with a team of outstanding local wellness professionals to provide free-of-charge integrative wellness therapies to those facing cancer on Cape Cod and the Islands.

In 2020, Sarah was awarded the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Community Service Hero Award, and in 2021 she was picked as a Human Rights Honoree on behalf of the Church Women United of Cape Cod. Needless to say, Sarah's work has made a broad reach within the Cape Cod community and beyond.

About John Pizzarelli: World-renowned guitarist, singer and Payomet Pal favorite John Pizzarelli has been hailed by the Boston Globe for “reinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz.” The Toronto Star pegged him as “the genial genius of the guitar.” And the Seattle Times saluted him as “a rare entertainer of the old school.”

Established as one of the prime contemporary interpreters of the Great American Songbook, Pizzarelli has expanded that repertoire by including the music of Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Antônio Carlos Jobim and the Beatles. His themed shows, often performed with his wife Jessica Molaskey, suggest there is no limit to Pizzarelli’s imagination or talent.
