Poem-Making with John Bonanni

Poem-Making with John Bonanni

Presented by The 204 at The 204

The Class

Looking to spark creative energy this summer? This class will meet twice weekly over the course of three weeks. The first five classes will focus on the craft of poem-making, the role of poetry in contemporary literature, and explore a variety of forms, all while allowing participants to generate and workshop their own poems. The final class will focus on experimental forms and how to submit work to literary journals. Readings of both poems and essays will challenge common assumptions about poetry, while illustrating a variety of methods for taking risks in our own work. This class meets in the Creative Suite on the first floor of the 204. Opportunities for asynchronous distance learning are also available.
