Storywalk

Presented by Highfield Hall & Gardens at Highfield Hall & Gardens

In collaboration with the Falmouth Library Youth Services Department, Highfield Hall & Gardens will present a Storywalk ® along the ADA Accessible Historic Beech Tree Path for 11 weeks this summer. The first story, A Flag for Juneteenth, will be installed June 19, 2023, and will be up for two weeks. A new story will then be put up each Monday for a week, ending September 4, 2023. The walk will begin at the gravel parking lot entrance and travel down among the musical instruments and beautiful historic Beech trees which are over 100 years old!  Families will be able to enjoy the serene setting while reading a story together.

The selected books will cover a variety of topics and situations to appeal to everyone. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and relax on the grounds afterward. The extensive gardens offer many additional fun explorations for families with children including a scavenger hunt on the grounds.

In addition, The Coalition for Children will offer craft activities related to the story of the week, for six weeks. Every Wednesday starting July 12 through August 16, from 10 am-12 pm, Coalition members will set up a craft activity and other resources on the back porch of Highfield, free for all who stop by.
