This concert will include one of Mendelssohn’s greatest chamber works, the Trio in D minor, Op. 49, and Ravel’s beautifully complex Duo for violin and cello. Both these works are characterized by a vast range of musical color and technical challenge, and they could be in no better hands than those of violinist Irina Muresanu and cellist Sergey Antonov. Muresanu, termed “irresistible” by The Boston Globe, has brought Cape Cod audiences to their feet season after season, just as she has done for fans around the world. Cellist Sergey Antonov, Gold Medal Winner in the International XIII Tchaikovsky Competition, is one of Russia’s "most spectacular soloists,” according to music critic Stephen Brookes of The Washington Post.

Founded in 1973 by Donald Enos, the Meeting House Chamber Music Festival has earned a reputation for presenting great classical and contemporary music, and this year is no exception.  Cape Cod audiences will be treated to works by composers of various periods and many countries around the world—from Beethoven, Brahms, and Schumann to Frank Bridge, Florence Price, Benjamin Britten, Miguel del Aguila, George Gershwin, Rebecca Clarke, Eric Ewazen and others. In addition to Muresanu and Antonov, top instrumentalists from the region and the world stage will join the festival, including cellists Amit Peled, Matthias Naegele, and Bo Ericsson; violinists Joyce Hammann, Katie Lansdale, and Heather Goodchild Wade; violists Laura Manko Sahin and Danielle Farina; and hornist Clark Matthews.

The five additional concerts in the series will be presented on consecutive Mondays: June 26 and July 3, 10, 17, and 24. Series tickets (6 concerts) only $90. Individual tickets at the door: $25 (under 18 free).
