Artist Herb Edwards will exhibit a new series of abstract paintings in the Sigel Gallery at Falmouth Art Center beginning Thursday, June 1, 2023 through June 30, 2023. An opening reception will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Edwards began this series a few years ago as a personal response to the Covid virus and the general malaise of the current culture. “I wanted to create a series of colorful abstractions that were fun to work on, playful and expressive. Each one became an adventure. \"The paintings became a visual equivalent for me about what we were all needing to feel.”

Herb, along with his wife, the painter Lillia Frantin, live and work in the village of North Falmouth and both have been members of Falmouth Art Center for many years. Edwards has had a long career in the visual arts since receiving his MFA from Pratt Institute in 1968. He was a college art professor for over 20 years while making art and exhibiting his work widely.
