Drawing on her background in Graphic Design, Ashley Heaton’s works are mostly designed using digital technologies and then brought to life using a wide range of mediums and techniques, including wood, stained glass and cut paper. On display in the Sigel Gallery at Falmouth Art Center May 1 - 31, Ashley’s pieces tend to be lighthearted, colorful, and whimsical in nature. Storytelling is her way of capturing the experiences and ideas that she has gained through media, books, everyday life, and jokes between friends which have inspired her.

Ashley Heaton grew up in Southern California until moving to New York in the mid-90s. She studied Studio Art and Graphic Design at SUNY Purchase in Westchester, NY. She worked as a Graphic Designer and Merchandiser  for Whole Foods Market throughout New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey, focusing on large-scale art installations and theme decorating for events and large spaces.
