As part of Calliope’s postcard project, “Wish You Were Here”, Robin Smith-Johnson will lead a writing workshop for adults, Bringing the Past to Life, that responds to the Falmouth Public Library’s historical collection of postcards.
Calliope Poetry's Project, Wish You Were Here”: Postcards from the Past, uses the Falmouth Public Library's collection of postcards as inspiration for writing short prose pieces or narrative poems (of 100 words or fewer) and creating new art (small paintings, photographs, prints, etc.). This event is free and open to the public. Register on the Events page of the Falmouth Public Library. Space is limited.
Robin Smith-Johnson will lead a writing workshop for adults, Bringing the Past to Life: A Postcard Writing Workshop. The focus of this workshop will be on how to bring history to life through poetry. In addition to two collections of poetry, Robin is the author of two books on Cape Cod history: Cape Cod Curiosities (The History Press, 2019) and Legends and Lore of Cape Cod (The History Press, 2016). She is a co-founder of the Steeple Street Poets of Cape Cod and currently teaches writing at Cape Cod Community College.
