Pastel Painting:  Inside –Outside: Using Perspective to Create the Sense of Space (Session 2) with Betsy Payne Cook

Presented by Cultural Center of Cape Cod at Cultural Center of Cape Cod

Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on three Tuesdays beginning June 6, from 9:30am – 12pm.

In-person at the Cultural Center or the option of Zoom for those that can’t attend in person or if weather is inclement. In this session we will be diving further into using perspective to create the sense of space in your paintings, whether it is still life, or interiors and landscape paintings. For anyone wanting to continue with our last session theme, we will paint indoors themes with still life and interiors. For those looking to return to landscapes, we will be diving into the basics of perspective by looking at objects that are outside. We will also have some fun using some unusual vantage points and skewed perspective angles! Students can work from their own photos and the instructor will have some to use as a resource. Lessons will promote drawing and perspective, use of value for impact, and color palette options. We will also look at both traditional and contemporary techniques for your paintings.  Students will have options to use various pastel papers & supports for their theme, incorporating multi-media if desired.  Tips from previous sessions will be revisited.

$120/$105 for members. Register at www.cultural-center.org or call 508-394-7100. The Cultural Center is located at 307 Old Main Street in South Yarmouth.
