2023 CCMNH Field Guide Training Course

2023 CCMNH Field Guide Training Course

Presented by Cape Cod Museum of Natural History at Cape Cod Museum of Natural History

Introductory Session: Tuesday, March 7th 9am-12pm.

Six Tuesday Academic Sessions: March 14, 21, 28; April 4, 11, & 25, 9am-2pm plus an opportunity to shadow a veteran guide on a walk during the week of April 17–21.

All sessions will include multiple presentations and (except for introductory session) a walk through a salt marsh and over Wing Island to Cape Cod Bay (i.e., dress appropriately and wear waterproof boots).  During the school vacation week, April 17 – 21, guides will have an opportunity to shadow a veteran guide leading one of the daily scheduled family walks.

New guides will learn about the natural history of Cape Cod in general, and the Stony Brook Valley and Wing Island in Brewster in particular, as well as how to lead walks and share information with visitors. Veteran guides are invited to participate to review information and to contribute knowledge and experience to the sessions as all guides prepare for the new season of leading walks of school groups and families throughout the spring, summer and fall.

For more information and to enroll in the course contact the Museum at 508-896-3867, ext. 133.
