Piano Music Inspired by the North American Landscape! With Ben Cosgrove

Presented by Cultural Center of Cape Cod at Cultural Center of Cape Cod

Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Friday, June 9, at 7:30pm.

Ben Cosgrove is a traveling composer-performer whose solo piano music explores themes of landscape, place, and environment. Ben has performed in every U.S. state except Delaware, collaborated with artists ranging from rock bands to string ensembles, and held artist residencies and fellowships with institutions including Acadia National Park, Isle Royale National Park, White Mountain National Forest, Harvard University, Middlebury College, the New England National Scenic Trail, the Schmidt Ocean Institute, NASA, and the Sitka Center for Art & Ecology. His most recent studio album, The Trouble With Wilderness, an evocation of various expressions of nature and wildness within the built environment, has been called "beautiful and fascinating" (The Maine Edge), "deeply impressive" (Independent Clauses) and "immediately evocative and fully arresting... brim[ming] with technical mastery and emotional capital" (Seven Days). Ben also writes nonfiction about landscape and place, and his essays have been published in Orion, Taproot, Northern Woodlands, Appalachia, and other outlets. Don’t miss your chance to Ben Cosgrove at the Cultural Center. Visit the Cultural Center’s website for more information on their COVID policy.
