Outermost Contra Dance

Outermost Contra Dance

Presented by Outermost Contra Dance at Wellfleet Preservation Hall

Celebrate Valentine’s Day week with Outermost Contra Dance! Swing your partner, dosido your friends and neighbors, and let the music guide your feet!

Eastham caller Pat Nash will be calling a variety of contra dances and mixers. Each dance will be taught with a thorough walk-through before the live music starts, with the intent of making all beginners feel comfortable.

Pat will be calling to the music of the accomplished and energetic old-time and Celtic musicians, fiddler Stuart Moore from Maine and Chatham, and Harwich guitarist Amy Corrigan.

Contra dancing is the true traditional New England dance, brought here by the Irish, English and Scottish settlers. No fancy footwork needed – if you can walk, you can dance!  All the dances are taught and called. The contra dance is family friendly and welcomes dancers of all levels.

No need to bring a partner; there are plenty of friendly people in this welcoming dance community.

Admission is $15, $10 for those under 30, $5 with student ID!  Vaccination cards are still required, but masks are optional.
