The CCCO kicks off their Sandbar Chamber Series on November 20th in Yarmouth.
Sunday, November 20th, 2022, 3 PM
Yarmouth New Church, Thacher Hall
266 Main St., Yarmouth Port, MA 02675
Join us for our first chamber series of the season, featuring music of Antonin Dvorak & Schubert's Masterful Cello Quartet.
“We’ve all heard of Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, but Franz Schubert often gets lost in the mix of things. The reality is Schubert is one of the greatest musical geniuses to have ever lived, composing over 600 songs, dozens of chamber pieces, nine symphonies, piano works, and more before dying at the young age of 31. The Cello Quintet was in fact written just two months before the composer’s death in 1828. It is as “mature” as Schubert gets”, says music director Matthew Scinto.
Program:
Dvorak Terzetto in C for Two Violins & Viola
Offenbach Cello Duo, Op. 53
Schubert Cello Quintet in C
Performers:
Jean Huang, Jesse MacDonald, violins
Jessica Cooper, viola
Tim Paek, Matthew Smith, cello
General Admission Tickets $35 - Students & Children FREE
