We’re not done with summer yet! Let’s gather and squeeze out the last bit on Saturday, September 17 from 6:00-9:00pm for a rockin’ evening with three well-renowned local, eclectic bands!
The Chandler Travis Philharmonic will warm us up with their alternative Dixieland and omnipop sound– next up, we'll get twisted with psychedelic garage reggae rockers, The Cyclones– and finally, be ready to get down and funky with Mashpee's own, The GroovaLottos. Each band will perform 45 minute sets, with 15 minutes in between.
And most importantly, are you familiar with HOW and WE CAN, two nonprofits doing important work supporting women's health and entrepreneurship on Cape Cod? Then you'll feel twice as nice when you come out to enjoy these local musicians, because $5 will be donated to each organization from all tickets sold.
Hailing from Boston and Cape Cod, The Chandler Travis Philharmonic is a 9-piece ensemble that includes a colorfully garbed horn section, string bass, keyboard, mandocello, guitar, drums, accordion, and a singing valet. It’s possible they might be the missing link between the Kinks and Sun Ra.
The Cyclones have been performing on the outer Cape for close to 40 years– with only a couple of short breaks. Basically an Orleans phenomenon they now include Chatham resident Jed Chrysler along with Orleans born and raised Jay Hagenbuckle, New Jersey transplant Malcolm Carlile and Connecticut native Bruce Maclean. Is “psychedelic garage rock reggae” a thing? As long as the Cyclones continue, it is.
Multi-Grammy nominated soul-funk jam band, The GroovaLottos, also comprise a musical production team created by veteran touring and studio session players and singers. They are the progenitive force behind the Thump & Soul sound, a regional, cross-genre music movement of primarily Black and Brown musical artists creating a space for themselves in the New England music scene.
