About the Artists

Award winning singer/songwriter/guitarist Kim Moberg was born in Juneau, Alaska, the daughter of a classical pianist mother of Alaskan Native Tlingit (People of the Tides) descent and a US Coast Guard veteran father from Kansas. Her Tlingit name is Ḵ'ashg̱é (Still and Shines) and she of the Raven (Yéil) moiety, Sea Pigeon (T'akdeintaan) clan.
Music was the constant in Kim's childhood, helping her to adjust to the frequent moves associated with growing up in a military family.
At the age of 14, Kim began playing acoustic guitar on a borrowed nylon 6 string. Later, Kim taught herself to strum and finger pick to her favorite songs by singer/songwriters, but debilitating stage fright kept her from pursuing her own dream of becoming a professional performer. In 2014 Kim set out to overcome her stage fright and wrote her first song.

Kim teamed with Grammy-nominated producer Jon Evans to record two albums: "Above Ground” and “Up Around The Bend”. Both have received world wide airplay and charted on the Folk Alliance International Folk DJ and NACC Radio charts. Kim and Jon are currently collaborating on her third album which feature songs that tie ancient prophecies to our current social environment.
Kim has received numerous recognitions, most recently 2021 Rocky Mountain Songwriting Contest Finalist, 2021 Great American Songwriting Contest Folk/Americana Finalist, 2020 CT Folk Grassy Hill Songwriting Competition Winner, 2020 Blues and Roots Radio Contest Finalist and 2020 Corpus Christi Songwriters Spring Songwriters Contest 2nd Place.

Kim's performance resume includes sharing the stage as opener and/or co-bill with numerous contemporary and established artists including: Jim Kweskin, Bill Staines, Ellis Paul, Joe Jencks, Vance Gilbert, Catie Curtis, Cheryl Wheeler, Rod Abernethy, Grace Morrison, and Rupert Wates.  She is a member of Recording Academy, Grammys, ASCAP, Folk Alliance International, Americana Music Association, Rhode Island Songwriters Association, Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and Sandwich Arts Alliance.
Kim is a strong believer in the importance of giving back and being actively involved. She offers her music and time at events to support her local community such as founder and former host of the monthly Craigville Coffeehouse Open Mic, former board member for Vinegrass (a non-profit organization that provides scholarships for music students) and founder and co-event manager of the annual Sandwich Arts Alliance PorchFest.

"Kim’s mighty pen is a source of amazing material that bridges the past with the future. She brings stories to life with harmonious melodies, and nothing can be more representative of that than her brand new LP Up Around The Bend. Kim’s stories are real, relatable and can connect each and every listener to their substance. In this world there are some people who write true organic music, music so real, and so important for our times, and that is Kim Moberg. It doesn’t hurt that she has an amazing voice to go with it!!”

Accompanying Kim is Heather Swanson, a classical Violinist who crossed over to folk and traditional Celtic music. Heather grew up in a large family in the Boston area where there were many opportunities to grow in her relationship with music and the violin. She played in the pit orchestra each year for the Gilbert & Sullivan shows and traveled with the Greater Boston Youth Symphony which lead her to study music at Boston University and UMass/Lowell. She is a music educator, specializing in the Suzuki Method.

Heather performs with with her cellist daughter Krista Lucich as the Cape Violin Cello Duo, as accompanist for Singer/Songwriter Kim Moberg and in an Irish Duo featuring Traditional Irish Folk music.

Heather’s first cd titled “Beside Quiet Waters” was released in 2019 and is a collection of traditional and contemporary Celtic tunes.
