Featured Artist – Debra Kennedy

The Featured Artist at the Eastwind Gallery from Aug. 15th thru Aug.20th will be Debra Kennedy.

Debra has been an artist and a painter for most of her adult life while also pursuing a career in business and higher education.  Debra loves spending time in Boston, on Cape Cod, and in Southern Florida.  Many of the paintings she has done are places that she is so familiar with - they are the places that she belongs.  Debra’s work is continually evolving.  For many years, she worked solely in watercolor and loved the loose fluidity of the paint and the challenge of the experience.  For the past several years, she has been working in oils, enjoying the texture and the richness of color.   Her art education has come through master artists and mentors. She believes creative pursuits have a way of stretching all aspects of thinking and seeing challenges.  In addition, she believes painting is play - it is good for the soul!

Eastwind Gallery is a cooperative with 14 gallery artists displaying a diverse array of artwork. The gallery is located downstairs between Watson’s Men’s Apparel & Gallant Jewelry in the heart of the Orleans Cultural District. Enter from Main St. or Main St. Square where free parking is available behind Watson’s with a rear entrance to gallery. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
