Featured Artist – Laurel Wilson

Artist Laurel Wilson will be the Featured Artist at Eastwind Gallery July 18th through July 23rd. For forty-five years she has created her unique and beautiful watercolors and shown them in galleries and art centers on Cape Cod and shows nationally and internationally. Her detailed realistic style, color harmony, balanced compositions, contrasting values, and unique subjects or presentation, appeal to those who want a lasting memory of their visit or life on Cape Cod and in New England.

With a strong background in art history and studio art at Mount Holyoke College, curatorial work and art conservation at Oberlin College, the Smithsonian, and Isabella Stewart Museum, and a teaching role at Alfred University her landscapes, seascapes, and close-ups show a keen eye, appreciation of nature and history, understanding, and strength. She enjoys using art as a means of communication connecting the artist and viewer through recognition of a special experience shared by both. Laurel will be present at the Eastwind Gallery July 18th and 23rd to greet you. Come in and say hello!

Eastwind Gallery is a cooperative with 14 gallery artists displaying a diverse array of artwork. The gallery is located downstairs between Watson’s Men’s Apparel & Gallant Jewelry in the heart of the Orleans Cultural District. Enter from Main St. or Main St. Square where FREE parking is available behind Watson’s with a rear entrance to gallery. Gallery hours until June 30th are Thursday through Saturday 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. July gallery hours will be Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
