This workshop is geared toward those who want to learn about basic techniques, tools and materials involved in creating mosaic art.
Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on four Thursdays, beginning July 21, from 9:30am-noon. This workshop is geared toward those who want to learn about basic techniques, tools and materials involved in creating mosaic art. You will make one mosaic that you can hang on the wall.
The class covers cutting, proper adhesives, substrates, design/layout and grouting. Learn how to safely cut and break materials (plates, stone, tile, glass, etc.) with mosaic tools to use for your mosaic. We will discuss andamento – the flow of mosaics and learn different ways to lay tesserae in the direct technique with a PVA glue. All materials, supplies and tools are provided.
