South African Braii Dinner with Joe Cizynski

South African Braii Dinner with Joe Cizynski

Presented by Cultural Center of Cape Cod at Cultural Center of Cape Cod

Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Wednesday, June 8, from 6-8pm.

In the Spring of 1994 Nelson Mandela was inaugurated as President of South Africa. We are going to commemorate this event with a South African Braii. Almost everyone loves a good barbecue, but South Africans take the classic BBQ to a whole new level with the braii. More than just a barbecue, the braii is practically a national sport. South Africans absolutely adore a braai and for them, the weekend usually means one thing: the aroma of grilling meats wafting from backyards across the country, while friends and family gather together for a good time. The most important part of the Braii is the use of different woods.

Tonight we will start with braiied shellfish (shrimp, crayfish and oysters), braiied Dorado (Mahi-Mahi) with apricot glaze, braiied Eland (venison) and finish with Amarula Don Pedro. Complimentary Pinotage will be served. This is a BYOB event and Recommended wines would be any South African red and whites that you can find.
