This four-week series will jumpstart a new or current yoga practice just in time for spring. Each week’s class will build upon skills learned from the previous.
Wednesdays, May 4th - May 25th
1 - 2:30pm
$90 fee for series * Limited enrollment
Week One: “Every breath you take” - breath awareness is the cornerstone of any yoga practice
Week Two: “Feet First” - building a foundation for balance and ease in yoga poses
Week Three: “Mindfulness Matters” - paying attention on purpose
Week Four: “Give me a Break” - restorative practices for rest and renewal
Participants will take away key skills to apply in a home practice or future yoga classes.
What to bring: Yoga mat, blanket, two yoga blocks, yoga belt (instructor will bring extra blocks and belts)
About the instructor:
Barbara Young recently retired as a middle school health teacher after 27 years and now resides in Eastham, MA with her husband and two dogs, Maggie and Peaches. She has taught yoga for over 18 years to people of all ages. More information on her accomplishments and certifications can be found on www.yogaalliance.org.
Barbara incorporates a variety of yoga styles in her classes so participants can safely and skillfully explore, discover, and connect with what works best for their own body and mind in the moment. She is a two-time cancer “thriver” who believes in the power of yoga in support of one’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
