The world premiere of Red Swans by Wendy Lement, directed by Nina Schuessler
The play centers on the friendship between Lisa and Katja (both with Jewish mothers), who meet at an art school in Berlin during WWII. They share a love of art, music, and life. Katja meets a talented potter named Cato, who recruits the girls into a resistance group eventually dubbed “The Red Orchestra” by the Gestapo. The friends serve as couriers and embark on dangerous missions. Against all odds, Lisa and Katja survive.
