Join Betsy’s workshop to immerse yourself in pastel painting and learn some basic pastel painting techniques.  Ideal for beginners or artists looking for a refresher. Through demonstrations and exercises/studies participants will become familiar with pastel techniques using hard and soft pastels, and experiment with layering and color/value choices, and how value is essential to pastel painting success.

Workshop participants will create small studies in pastels in the morning and in the afternoon devote time to completing a small painting.

Photo references will be provided but feel free to bring photos . There will be plenty of individual feedback throughout the workshop, and an ideal way to explore the versatility of painting with pastels
