Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, Tuesday, May 3 – Friday, May 6, from 9am-12:30pm. This unique class in stone carving will focus on providing the student with the experience of working in soapstone through a subtraction process with rasps (files) and sandpapers, that will render your amazing vision into reality. Have you ever wondered how Michelangelo carved the David? You will be shown how and given help to create your own masterpiece! In this one-week class students will learn how to select a stone that fits their design, and create an abstract, realistic or figurative sculpture from soapstone with depth, texture, and continuity of design.
Until further notice, students in all Cultural Center classes will be required to wear a mask and show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test conducted within 72 hours prior to the class.
