The Cape Symphony is thrilled to present an unforgettable show of swing and Motown hits, The Kings of Soul & Swing, featuring the star of the touring company of Hamilton partnered with the lead singer of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
Julius Thomas has appeared across the country as Alexander Hamilton, as Berry Gordy in the box-office hit, Motown: The Musical, and as part of the original Broadway cast of the Tony-nominated The Scottsboro Boys. Mark Kopitzke traveled the world for nine years with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, performs at Disneyland with the band Phat Cat Swinger, and released his debut solo album, How To Wear A Bow Tie, in 2015.
These crooners sing with powerful charisma in numbers like “It Don't Mean a Thing” and “Moonlight Serenade.” Show-stoppers like “For Once In My Life” and “It’s Not Unusual” will pack the show with explosive energy. Whether it’s a classic of the American songbook like “Just One of Those Things” or a Jackson 5 medley, Julius and Mark have an unmatched ability to connect with audiences.
On top of extraordinary vocals, what makes this duo so fun is the ease and chemistry between these long-time friends. With 30+ combined years of performing under their belts, the stories they share come from a heartfelt love for this music. Two guys. Two incredible voices. So much fun!
