Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on six Saturdays, beginning January 22, from 11-12:30pm. This class is an exploration of surface design techniques for clay work. Whether students are hand builders or wheel throwers, there are many exciting techniques for adding color and texture to ceramic work. The focus of this class will be learning about and experimenting with several surface design methods, both traditional and nontraditional. Students do not need to have drawing skills. Ways of transferring imagery will be covered as well. Students do need to have a basic knowledge of working with clay. They will be making simple forms on which to try out the surface treatments. All materials are included. Until further notice, students over 12 in all Cultural Center classes will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test conducted within 72 hours prior to the class.
