The THUMP & SOUL Clap proudly presents WAMPTRONICA NIGHT, a celebration of Wampanoag and other native dance music artists and producers. Saturday, November 27th at the Native Gallery, 5 N Market Street in the Mashpee Commons (across from Zoe’s Pizza). Doors open at 7pm and the suggested donation is $10.

WAMPTRONICA NIGHT features Mashpee Wampanoag Saxophonist and percussionist, Asa Peters recently released his edm/jazz E.P. “GROW OUT”. Also of Mashpee, drummer/ vibraphonist/ vocalist/ producer The ZYG 808 recently released the Afrobeat/Hip-hop E.P. “YET ANOTHER 1”; and veteran artist and producer Mwalim DaPhunkee Professor also recently released a Jazzy House Music E.P., “POLYMATH’s GROTTO”. The evening will also feature music by Apache visual artist and music maker, Casey Figueroa; and Canadian first nations production team, A Tribe Called Red. The projects by all of these artists are available on Bandcamp and all other streaming platforms.

The THUMP & SOUL Clap is a new dance party, lounge and performance event taking place on the 4th Saturday of each month (except December) at the Native Gallery in the Mashpee Commons. The THUMP & SOUL Clap is about bringing the good vibes, and wellness by dancing to and enjoying a sampling of soul, hip-hop, house music, dance hall, and break beat by resident DJ, The ZYG 808 and a rotating list of guest DJs and musical artists. Inspired by his experiences at alcohol-free underground dance parties in New York City, Providence, Philadelphia, and the DMV; tales and legends of a by gone underground dance music scene on the cape; together with a need for folks to get out and feel good among other folks, the Native Gallery has become a monthly musical haven for folks to get lost in the grooves.
