The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History presents Bird Walk & Talk with naturalist Phil Kyle Thursdays, December 2, 9, 16 and Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 9:30am.

This December, Phil will present four fascinating programs on the world of birds. Following the presentations, he will lead a guided bird walk on the Wing Island Trail. Please dress for the weather.
Thursday, December 2nd ~ Winter Residents and Migrants
Survival in harsh conditions make bird adaptions for winter unbelievable; finding available food; torpor, in some cases, to survive cold; sleeping locations and insulating behavior in response to cold.
Thursday, December 9th ~ Winter Bird Friendly Plants
Birds and wildlife only survive because of nature’s bounty. Learn about the
plants that provide sustenance for this kind of wild life.
Thursday, December 16th ~ Amazing Behavior of Common Birds
Whether distinguishing male from female with ultraviolet vision,
singing to defend their yards, or to attract females, the way they
act is astounding once the secrets are revealed.
Wednesday, December 29th ~ Pelagic Birds: Out at Sea and Out of Mind
Pelagic birds, or seabirds, are unique! Learn about their special characteristics and where you can see them on Cape Cod beaches.
Naturalist Phil Kyle has been birding for over 40 years, has written a column on birds for the Cape Cod Times, Director of Education for South Shore Natural Science Center, past Head Naturalist at the
Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and Green Briar Nature Center in Sandwich. He taught Biology at Barnstable High School and graduated from Cornell University.
