The holiday season begins with the Cape Symphony! Year after year, we gather to share joyous music and moments that put us all in a holiday mood. For “Holiday on the Cape,” we’ll be joined by two gloriously talented award-winning vocal artists, Cape Cod native and cabaret singer Dawn Derow and jazz singer and saxophonist Danny Bacher. Dawn will perform “What Child is This” and “Christmas on Cape Cod,” among other classics. Danny will sing “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music and put a jazz twist on “Little Drummer Boy.” Together, the two will duet on “White Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” and more.
2020 marked the 50th anniversary of the Cape’s beloved Chatham Chorale; we’ll shine a spotlight on our dear friends. The Chorale’s Music Director Joe Marchio will conduct “The First Noel” and “Angels We Have Heard on High.” We’ve commissioned a new Hanukkah work, which will be performed by cantorial soloist Samantha Stinson. Emmy-winning author and journalist David Pogue of “CBS Sunday Morning” and the New York Times will appear in his other roles as musician, conductor, composer, and music lover. The result is a wonderful holiday celebration and we can’t wait to share it all with you!
