Naturescape Gallery at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is proud to present “Cape Nights Photography” by photographer Timothy Little November 1 – December 30, 2021*
Timothy Little is a Cape Cod based photographer specializing in night photography and light painting. When utilizing this technique, a scene or object can be brought to life by painting with a beam of light, which is spectacularly evident in Little’s images. The exhibit will include selected works showcasing Tim’s astro-landscape photography under moonlit starry skies, capturing the expansive Milky Way as it stretches over familiar Cape Cod scenes. See the movement of stars as they travel through the night sky and look closely as you may even see meteors, jetliners and aurora!
Tim has spent much of the last fifteen years photographing the Cape’s National Seashore, the Berkshires, and abandoned places throughout the southwest United States. Shooting at night allows Tim to immerse himself in a world that most people sleep through and emphasizes the peaceful, meditative retreat from the busy, sunlit existence.
Little’s work has been featured in Cape Cod Magazine, Cape Cod Life, The Cape Cod Times and Visit Massachusetts among other publications. In 2013, his first book “Cape Cod Nights: A Photographic Exploration of Cape Cod and the Islands” was released by Schiffer Books and his website, www.capenightphotography.com, contains the area’s largest collection of night photography.
On Saturday, December 4th at 1pm Timothy will be giving a presentation at the Museum in conjunction with his exhibit focusing on Cape Nights Holiday Lights titled Milky Ways to Holidays!
