From Joplin to Ravel: Pianist James Rosenblum, in Concert

From Joplin to Ravel: Pianist James Rosenblum, in Concert

Presented by Cultural Center of Cape Cod at Cultural Center of Cape Cod

Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Sunday, October 3, at 3pm. Cape Cod-based pianist James Rosenblum returns to the Cultural Center!  A multi-talented performer, James has studied classical piano formally since age six.  Those in the know will recognize him from previous concerts at Chatham First Night, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, the Cape Cod Museum of Art, and the Cape’s Classical Open Mics.  James is one of 48 worldwide competitors selected for the Cliburn Amateur Competition, 2022. For his Cultural Center audience, James will perform a program featuring ragtimes by Scott Joplin, including Maple Leaf Rag, Magnetic Rag, and the beautiful and virtuosic piano works of Maurice Ravel, including Ondine.  These composers, though contemporaries, wrote in very different styles.  Few other pianists are presenting this music, so don't miss this opportunity to hear these rarely performed, masterful, and enjoyable works. Until further notice, ticket holders for Cultural Center events will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test conducted within 72 hours prior to the event. For more details, visit the Center's website. $20. For tickets, visit www.cultural-center.org or call 508 -394-7100. Cultural Center of Cape Cod, 307 Old Main St., South Yarmouth.
