Christina Clancy, author of The Second Home, a novel set in Wellfleet, will discuss her 2020 debut and her forthcoming novel Shoulder Season with Karen Dukess, who's novel The Last Book Party is set in Truro. Their conversation will cover their love for the Outer Cape and the people and places that inspired their work. They'll also discuss the adaptation of The Second Home for television (the novel has been optioned by TriStar for a miniseries starring Nicolaj Coster-Waldau from Game of Thrones). This will be a casual, fun and interactive conversation.

About the authors:
Christina Clancy is a Madison, Wisconsin-based writer with family ties to South Wellfleet dating back to the 1880s. Her debut, The Second Home, was released in June 2020, and her second novel, Shoulder Season, will be published July 6, 2021, St. Martin's Press. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, and in The Sun Magazine and various literary journals. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and previously taught at Beloit College.

Karen Dukess has a work history as eclectic as her taste in books. She has been a tour guide in the former Soviet Union, a newspaper reporter in Florida, a magazine publisher in Russia and, for nearly a decade, a speechwriter on gender equality for the United Nations Development Programme. She has blogged on raising boys for The Huffington Post and written book reviews for USA Today. She has a degree in Russian Studies from Brown University and a Master’s in Journalism from Columbia University. She lives with her family near New York City and spends as much time as possible in Truro on Cape Cod.
