Natalya & Sonya Woodman: In Flux

Natalya & Sonya Woodman: In Flux

Presented by Wellfleet Preservation Hall at Wellfleet Preservation Hall

IN FLUX
Sonya and Natalya Woodman are a mother daughter pair of artists who live in Wellfleet. Natalya Woodman’s art consists of character drawings of imaginative creatures using pen, markers and paint. Sonya Woodman is a painter and illustrator whose acrylic paintings are inspired by the ocean and the lifestyles shaped around it. Both artists explore shape-shifting and evolvement.  Their work is ever changing, in motion…in flux.
Natalya Woodman has been developing her art style since early childhood working with various  2D and 3D media. Natalya currently attends Nauset Middle School and has been a student at  PAAM’s Art Reach program for several seasons. In the past few years she has been greatly influenced by anime/ manga art from Japan. Natalya’s art consists of character drawings, creatures from her imagination inspired by details she notices in nature. Her inspiration comes primarily from the forest, incorporating animal, plant and fungi into her compositions.

Sonya Woodman is a local artist and graduate of the University of Massachusetts Illustration and Fine arts program. Her work over the years on Cape Cod has encompassed sculpture, illustration, painting, murals and sign lettering. Sonya’s most recent work explores the relationship between sea and sky. Being a surfer and shellfisher Sonya has a connection to these elements that shape her life and inspires her art.
