Corrinn will show you the techniques to use to get the most out of your clay, and to begin to center and throw larger pieces of clay.
Have you finally got the basics down, but you look at your pieces and notice the bottoms are a little heavy, and the walls are thicker than you’d like? Are you using 2 pounds of clay for a mug that you know should only take a pound and a quarter? Corrinn will show you the techniques to use to get the most out of your clay, and to begin to center and throw larger pieces of clay. This class will focus primarily on bowls and cylinders, and what you SHOULD be getting out of a 2-5 pound piece of clay.
Classes also include ample access to the studio during posted open studio hours. Ceramics is an art form that benefits from practice and social time outside of class time. All classes include 25 pounds of clay, and the glazing and firing of those 25#. Additional clay may be purchased if needed.
