In this class we will create functional pieces to serve different foods and drinks using both the wheel and hand-building techniques. This may also include accessories, such as cups or ladles to aid in the making or serving of a particular meal or beverage. Students will help guide the direction of the class by creating a menu on the first class. We will start with berry bowls and platters and perhaps work our way over to the perfect margarita pitcher. Depending on CDC recommendations, perhaps we can share a festive meal and discussion together on our last class served on our pandemic serving ware.
Classes also include ample access to the studio during posted open studio hours. Ceramics is an art form that benefits from practice and social time outside of class time.*All classes include 25 pounds of clay, and the glazing and firing of those 25#. Additional clay may be purchased if needed.
