Exploration into how a group of notable ceramic artists design, construct and glaze their work will guide students in the creation of their own pieces that utilize these innovative techniques.
This class offers technique and insight into how a select group of notable artists makes work. We will explore and learn about how Viola Frey builds with components, how Grayson Perry creates rich surface design and illustration work, and Ron Nagle’s ideas about scale and glazing. Adams Puryear will demonstrate these techniques and support individual students projects.
All classes include 25 pounds of clay, and the glazing and firing of those 25#. Additional clay may be purchased if needed.
Classes also include ample access to the studio during posted open studio hours. Ceramics is an art form that benefits from practice and social time outside of class time.
