No experience is necessary in this Watercolor Intensive with artist Mary Richmond.

Rank beginners and scaredy cats are welcome and encouraged!

This one-day workshop is for those that can’t commit to a weekly class but who would like to learn or improve basic watercolor skills and techniques in a group setting with an instructor. There are three one-day workshops scheduled and each will be different so you can come to one, two, or all three.

Color mixing will be the prime focus of all sessions and we will work from life, not photographs. No need to bring a pencil as we will be doing direct painting.

Everyone will work at their own level. This is a judgment-free zone, promise.

Subjects will vary but will be some form of still life with objects, flowers, fruit, and vegetables,etc.

No special supplies are needed. Just bring what you have or…you may bring $25 (cash or Venmo day of class) and use brushes, paints, paper, palette, etc. supplied by the teacher. You can take home what you don’t use in class, including one good brush, palette and paints on the palette.

You must let Mary know you want or need supplies, so that she brings enough. It is also advisable to bring your sense of humor as laughing is important when painting.

If you have been painting, please bring a few (2-5) of your paintings to share with the class. If not, please don’t worry about it.

Bring a bag lunch, snacks, water or other beverage and be prepared to wear your mask and engage in social distancing for the duration of the class, even if you have been vaccinated. (Instructor is vaccinated)

Students 16 and older are welcome, and skill level is Beginner to Intermediate
