VISIONS / REVISIONS ... stepping into the same river twice

In VISIONS/REVISIONS… stepping into the same river twice, the all-women painting group, TWENTY-ONE in TRURO, explores the theme of changing perceptions.

When creating a work of art, an artist may see her subject one way initially, and then at a later time, interpret the same subject quite differently. In this exhibition, each artist presents two works, related to each other but created at two different times with different media, approaches or vision.

The exhibiting artists are: Heather Blume, Michele Dangelo, Jane Eccles, Maryalice Eizenberg, Susan Hollis, Martine Joré, Jane Lincoln, Jerre Moriarty, Rosalie Nadeau, Kate Nelson, Carol Odell, Julie Olander, Suzanne M Packer, Sarah Fielding Ricci, Jo Ann Ritter, M’Lou Sorrin, Lorraine Trenholm, Christine Velesig, Linda Young and Joyce Zavorskas.

The TWENTY-ONE IN TRURO group of  women artists spend one week together every year - painting, walking along the Pamet River and holding informal demonstrations, critiques and pot luck dinners. During this time they support one another in meeting the challenges of leading a creative life. By returning to the same location each year, these women artists have had the privilege of seeing and interpreting the Truro landscape over twenty-three years.
