This class will enhance your skills in both wheel thrown and hand built forms designed to fire in a variety of kilns. Although we will be working towards a May wood firing at the Hutchins Wood Kiln, we will also be preparing for the new gas kiln being built in June, as well as a continued dialog of cone 5 oxidation firing. With this in mind we will be using a variety of clays, glazes, and slips. This is a tremendous opportunity to learn about the differences in kilns, firing methods, and strategies for making work suitable for each. Demonstrations as well as power point presentations will be given routinely throughout the session. All students should have completed a minimum of one beginning level  class or equivalent.

A separate firing fee of $75 will be paid to the owner of the kiln, our very own Deb Hutchins.
