Join Sturgis Library as we learn some excellent sustainable agriculture secrets from the Cape Cod Food Forrest Initiative!
Food Forest Initiative (FFI) is a volunteer collaborative that promotes Cape Cod biodiversity and food sovereignty through public plantings and educational actions. Our knowledge is based on permaculture and “Restoration Agriculture” experiments in our own yards and farms. We will answer your questions about native edible plants and perennial foods, and how to plant them in self-sustaining, ecologically diverse gardens. In nutshell lessons, we’ll address sourcing and propagating plants, basic tree grafting, and low-cost practices for creating gardens using local materials. This program is made possible by a generous grant from The American Library Association’s Resilient Communities program.
