At Your Service: Creating Ceramic Serving Pieces with Style, with Corrinn Jusell

Presented by Meetinghouse Clay Center at Meetinghouse Clay Center

In this class we will create functional pieces to serve different foods and drinks using both the wheel and handbuilding techniques. This may also include accessories, such as cups or ladles to aide in the making or serving of a particular meal or beverage. Students will help guide the direction of the class by creating a menu on the first class. We will start with berry bowls and platters and perhaps work our way over to the perfect margarita pitcher. We can look forward to a day not too far down the line when we can share festive meals together made on our pandemic serving ware.

*All classes include 25 pounds of clay, and the glazing and firing of those 25#. Additional clay may be purchased if needed. Beginner tool kits may be purchased for $24.

Classes also include ample access to the studio during open studio hours.  Ceramics is an art form that benefits from practice and social time outside of class time.

Meetinghouse Clay Center classes are limited to six students. The center adheres to CDC and Commonwealth of Massachusetts Covid-19 protocols for social distancing and face coverings, and has hand-washing and sanitizing stations.
