ABOUT KIYOSHI
Violinist Kiyoshi Hayashi has performed in many notable concert halls around the world including Symphony Center in Chicago, Symphony Hall and Jordan Hall in Boston, the Kennedy Center, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Japan. He has performed with many notable ensembles around the New England area including Palaver Strings, the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra, Juventas New Music Ensemble, Phoenix Orchestra, and A Far Cry Chamber Orchestra.
As a soloist, he has won prizes in various competitions around the US including the Midwest Young Artists Walgreens National Concerto Competition, the Stanger Young Artists Audition, and The Peter E. Tannenwald Concerto Competition.
In 2016, Kiyoshi received his B.M. in Violin Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music with “academic honors,” where he studied under the instruction of Nicholas Kitchen. Other primary teachers include Thomas Wermuth, and Almita Vamos. Additionally, Kiyoshi has attended various music festivals around the world including the Pacific Music Festival, the Chautauqua Music Festival, and the Bowdoin International Music Festival.
Kiyoshi is very passionate about using music as a means to bring individuals and communities together, to heal and positively uplift people’s lives, and to inspire others to follow their passions. Aside from music, Kiyoshi is very passionate about health and wellness. He is a certified personal trainer and integrative nutrition health coach and is the founder of his personal health and life coaching business, Train From Within.
ABOUT TIM
Cellist Timothy Paek is an enthusiastic musician with a passion for chamber music. He believes in and champions an ideal: chamber music can better the world. His current appointments include, principal cellist of the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra, as well as section cellist of the Boston-based Phoenix Orchestra. Aside from those, he also shares the stage as a guest with other New England ensembles such as the Unitas Ensemble, Cape Symphony, New Bedford Symphony, and the CODA Ensemble.
Recent highlights of Timothy’s career include all live streamed concerts with the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra, the Unitas Ensemble, sponsored by the Celebrity series of Boston, as well as self procured Groupmuse performances with various artists on the eastern seaboard. He has also been a featured guest musician on numerous series, including: faculty recitals at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Pittsburgh Chamber Music Society, Carnegie Concert Series, Brookline Library Music Association, Caroga Lake Music Festival, Spectrum in NYC, and Music for Food.
Timothy was a founding member of the Meadowlark Piano Trio from 2012 - 2020, which advanced to the semi-final round of the Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition. In 2018, the trio served as artist fellows for the Music for Food organization, a musician-lead initiative to fight hunger in our local communities. Highlights of the final season included a 3 concert series of all three Brahms Piano Trios.
A native of New Jersey, Timothy began the study of the cello at age nine. His childhood teachers include Andre Emelianoff and Jerome Carrington at the preparatory division of the Juilliard School. At age 13, Timothy began to explore the realms of chamber music at a special place called Greenwood music camp. His mentors include the members of the Cavani, Cleveland, Chiara, Orion, and St. Lawrence String Quartets. Timothy completed degrees at Carnegie Mellon University, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the University of Nebraska—Lincoln; his primary teachers were Anne Martindale Williams, Melissa Kraut, and Gregory Beaver.
