This class is intended for adult beginners only. The course will consist of 10 hour-long sessions with instructor Jerry Doherty, conducted over Zoom and ending with a group concert at FCTV (If Pandemic Restrictions allow).

Mondays, starting January 25, 1:00-2:15pm

*The fee for Beginner Guitar is $300 per student for 10 one-hour sessions.

NOTE: (Participants must supply their own guitar in good working order with fresh strings and a few guitar picks.)

About the Instructor:

Guitarist, Singer, and Songwriter Jerry Doherty has recorded 4 CD’s and done countless sessions as a studio musician. He has also taught private lessons since 1987, both acoustic and electric guitar styles, as well as bass guitar and voice. Jerry shared the stage with over 50 national acts in the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and South, including The Beach Boys, Charlie Daniels, Mark Chestnut, Ricky Skaggs, Allison Krauss, Sawyer Brown, Jerry Reed, Mickey Gilley to mention a few.

As a professional guitarist and singer, Jerry's style is an amalgamation of roots music; Americana, classic rock, blues, old-school jazz, country, and folk.
