If you’ve always wanted to learn to draw this class is for you.
If you’ve always wanted to learn to draw but were afraid you didn’t have the talent for it, Sketching for Scaredy Cats is for you. Instructor Mary Richmond of Cape Cod Art and Nature has been teaching people of all ages to draw for over 35 years, and she believes anyone and everyone can learn to draw, given a few simple techniques and some practice. Students will learn various traditional techniques and will be able to draw from life with some skill and confidence after the 8-week session. All a student needs for the first class is a willingness to show up and a sense of humor.
Materials will be provided for the first class and suggestions for student sketchbooks and pencils will be made at that time.
This class is for real beginners who are nervous about picking up a pencil to make that first line, not for those wanting to brush up on their techniques. (If you took art years ago in college or at an art organization, you are not a scaredy cat. If you own a sketchbook, you are not a scaredy cat. Scaredy Cats 2 or 3 may be better for those who want to brush up on their skills and learn new ones.)
