“Made in Heaven” A Touching One-Act Virtual Play Addressing Racism in a White Community

Presented by Sandwich Arts Alliance at Sandwich Arts Alliance

The Sandwich Arts Alliance announces its first Zoom production, “Made in Heaven”, a 12-minute live presentation about love and racial prejudice in the afterlife by Cape Cod playwright Candace Perry. Watch free on Zoom Friday evening, October 23rd at 7 pm. Early registration at www.sandwichartsalliance.org is required to ensure that audience members have all the information needed prior to the performance. Donations are requested.

This delightful play invites reflection on serious themes while being fun and entertaining at the same time. In this work, Perry creates a heaven where two soulmates are paired for eternity, but those pairings can be quite unexpected. Faye, a traditional White woman discovers that God matched her to Henry, her Black gardener of many years, and it’s up to God’s “assistant” to prove to Faye that His matches are never mistaken.

The play will be followed by an optional, interactive talkback with the actors, director and playwright, along with a panel of community leaders and representatives. The two leading roles will be played by local favorites, Karen Santos and Linda Monchik. Making her directorial debut is Janet Geist Moore, already familiar to Cape audiences as an outstanding actor.
