WHFF Virtual: Mr. Soul!

WHFF Virtual: Mr. Soul!

Presented by Woods Hole Film Festival at Online/Virtual Space

The Woods Hole Film Festival's WHFF Virtual screening series presents the award-winning music documentary Mr. Soul!, including an online Q&A with the the film's director Melissa Haizlip on Saturday, October 17 at 7pm EDT.

ABOUT THE FILM:
Before Oprah, before Arsenio, there was Mr. SOUL. On the heels of the Civil Rights Movement, one fearless black pioneer reconceived a Harlem Renaissance for a new era, ushering giants and rising stars of black American culture onto the national television stage. He was hip. He was smart. He was innovative, political, and gay. In his personal fight for social equality, the man ensured the Revolution would be televised. He was Ellis Haizlip. The Revolution was SOUL.

For the best community viewing experience, we recommend starting the film at 5:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday, October 17 and then joining WHFF Executive Director Judy Laster and for the Q&A with Melissa Haizlip on Zoom at 7:00 p.m. EDT.

The film will be available to watch between Thursday, October 15 at 8am and Sunday, October 18 at midnight. If you purchase a ticket in advance you will receive an activation link to view the film via e-mail on Thursday morning, October 15. If you purchase a ticket on or after October 15 you will receive a watch link immediately. A free ticket to the virtual Q&A will be made available when you purchase your ticket. A separate access link for the Q&A will be e-mailed to you approximately one hour before the start of the event. Once you start playing the film you will have 48 hours to finish watching, or until midnight on Sunday, October 18, whichever comes first.
