The Virtual Gallery at FCTV

Presented by Falmouth Community Television at The Gallery at FCTV

As part of our effort to support the local creative economy during the pandemic, FCTV presents The Virtual Gallery at FCTV. Each show will feature emerging and established artists from the Cape and surrounding areas.

Our first virtual exhibit features the artwork of Patricia McCarthy, Anne Costello and Ed Norton.

Patricia McCarthy holds undergraduate degrees from Duke University in North Carolina and Emmanuel College in Boston, and a Master's Degree from Clark University, Worcester, MA.

During a career in healthcare she continued to paint and expand her art education. Over the past few years she has been fortunate to study with renowned Gloucester plein air painter David P. Curtis and Rockport artist, Caleb Stone and other Cape Ann artists. Pat lives in Gloucester where she paints in the studio and “en plein air” primarily in oil. She frequently travels to Ireland and Italy to paint with family and friends.

Pat is an artist member of the Rockport Art Association (Rockport, MA), North Shore Art Association (Gloucester, MA), Bryan Gallery (Jeffersonville, VT) and the Artists’ Group of Charlestown (Boston, MA).

Anne Costello is a graduate of Regis College in Weston, MA and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts. Her love of vibrant color creates a mood and feeling within each of her paintings.  Her preferred mediums are Oil and Acrylic, although she has done numerous pieces using pastels.

Anne is currently a member of the Andover Artists Guild, Chelmsford Art Association, Rockport Art Association and Newburyport Art Association.

Anne’s work can be found at “Picture Yourself” Gallery in Chelmsford, Ma. and she was the featured Artist during the Spring & Summer of 2019.  She was a member of East Wind Gallery, Orleans, where her work was displayed, as well as My Sisters Gallery in Sandwich, MA.  She has participated in The Sandwich Artisan Groups Art Shows and the Cataumet Show.  Recently Anne's work was displayed at the “Deck the Docks” Maritime Show in Gloucester MA.

Currently studying with David P. Curtis, she has also studied with Tom Dunlay and Steve Greco, both playing an instrumental role in her artistic development.

Ed Norton began drawing, painting in oils, pastels, watercolors in grammar school art classes. He was staff cartoonist for his college newspaper and at his first daily newspaper job in White Plains, NY. He switched to writing and editing for the rest of his journalism career for newspapers in New Jersey and New York City.

In 2015 Norton revived his interest in watercolor painting by taking a 3-month class at the Falmouth Art Center, after which he was able to sell his paintings at two annual exhibits at FAC. He has subsequently taken a watercolor course from a professional artist and has entered work in many gallery exhibits.
