Nature Screen at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster presents Curiosity Stream’s Sharks of the Icy North a film by Christina Karliczek Skoglund.
For millions of years sharks have ruled the oceans. We are most familiar with these apex predators from the depths of tropical seas, and more recent times, off the shores of Cape Cod. At the same time, we know very little about the sharks of the icy North and their fascinating survival strategies.
Award-winning wildlife underwater camerawoman, Christina Karliczek Skoglund, embarks on an international expedition to find just a few of the more than 100 species of the elusive cold water sharks, rarely filmed before, before it’s too late. Despite their finely tuned survival skills, sharks are under severe pressure tangled in fishing gear by the hundreds of millions. In order to save them, we must understand them. But first, we must find them.
