A rare opportunity to fire your clay work in a wood kiln!
We are incredibly fortunate to be able to offer this class at the Falmouth Art Center! Join Seth Rainville in this immersive study and practice of wood firing, and the process of making wood fired pots. Few people have had access to wood fired kilns and have even less access to teachers who are able to teach it. Seth has been wood firing for over 20 years and has even designed and built the kiln we will be using! This class however, will be hands on and all students must be willing to engage in the entire process… this includes the cutting and stacking of wood, cleaning shelves, loading, and most importantly, firing. If you are an intermediate to advanced level student, and you are willing to put in the work, this will be a one in a lifetime experience!
A separate firing fee of $75 will be paid to the owner of the kiln, our very own Deb Hutchins.
** Please note: an additional fee of $75 is to be paid directly to Deborah Hutchins, owner of the wood fire kiln that is being used for the class.
$375 for Members / $425 for Non-Members
