Learn various techniques with hard and soft pastels, all from the comfort of your own home.
Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Thursday, August 6, from 9am-noon. This class meets online on Zoom. Confirmation email will contain the Zoom class link. Explore the versatility of painting with pastels. Ideal for beginners or artists looking for a refresher. Through demonstrations and exercises/studies, participants will become familiar with pastel techniques using hard and soft pastels and will experiment with layering using color/value choices. Workshop participants will create a resource of samples and small studies before working on a painting. Photo references will be provided, but students should feel free to bring their own photographs. Zoom format will provide opportunity for students to view Betsy’s easel up close while she demonstrates techniques and fundamentals. Betsy will be happy to take questions while she works, and she will guide students on how to use Zoom if they are unfamiliar with the platform.
