The synergy of rolling waves and serene skies results in a dynamic exhibit, masterfully portrayed in pastels. Artist Catherine Howe succeeds in capturing moments of silence and movement, executed in bold colors and conveying the relationship between the shifting atmosphere and the constant changes in the sea. Catherine has always been inspired by color, light and shadow and her passion of the pastel medium’s pure pigments and rich colors enable her to express it.
Catherine graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor of fine arts degree. She has worked as a fashion illustrator, graphic designer and art director for various advertising agencies and was the art director for American Trans Air Airlines. She is an associate member of the Pastel Society of America and is a member of the Pastel Societies of Cape Cod and Maine.
