This 4 hour Zoom workshop  with Betsy Payne Cook will provide plenty of opportunity to explore the versatility of painting with pastels.  Ideal for beginners or artists looking for a refresher. Through demonstrations and exercises/studies participants will become familiar with pastel techniques using hard and soft pastels, and experiment with layering and color/value choices.

Workshop participants will create small studies before devoting time to working on a painting. Photo references will be proved but feel free to bring photos you would like to paint plenty of individual feedback throughout the workshop, and an ideal way to immerse yourself in pastel painting.

Zoom format will provide opportunity for you to view my easel up close while I demonstrate techniques and fundamental steps to paint with pastels. I am happy to take questions while I work and will guide you on how to use Zoom if you have not done this before. You will complete several small paintings as studies and then we will take a short break before we spend time working on a painting.
